Grant Goodvin, founder of Family Legacy Consultant Group (a leader in Family Business and Wealth Transition Consulting), spoke at several family business symposiums in 2009.

Grant presented a workshop at Pepperdine University, Boone Center for the Family, Family of Faith Conference, June 12, 2010.  The workshop examined the similarities of balancing work and family life for families in business/wealth transition and ministers.

He also spoke to the Bible Chef class (www.biblechef.com) at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Camarillo, CA on June 13, 2010 about estate and legacy planning.

Grant also presented a class at the  Pepperdine University Annual Bible Lectures on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.  The class is titled, "God's Resources for creating spiritual values in family businesses".Grant spoke at the Pepperdine University's Boone Center for the Family symposium for families in business on February 18, 2010 at the Irvine, CA campus.  He also gave a presentation at the Board of the Boone Center for the Family meeting March 1, 2010.  The Boone Center for the Family is laying the groundwork for the vision of being a world-class Family Legacy Center.  Family Legacy applies to family business, wealth transition and generatively transfering values, principles and virtues from the senior generation to younger generations.

Grant is an excellent choice to speak at your Family Retreats and Family Business Seminars.  He frequently presents on a variety of topics related to family relationships, value and virtue transfers within families, wealth transition to younger generations, family business succession and optimizing career development for all family members whether they are involved in the family business or not.  Grant's personal experience in his family business consisted of working with parents, siblings, children, uncle, aunt, cousins and in-laws.  His perspective is not based on theory but on real life relationships and examples.  Grant brings encouragement and hope to families.

Pepperdine University's Boone Center for the Family (BCF) is embarking on a pursuit to be an authoritative source of research data centering on family business and wealth transition.  Pepperdine has a superb undergraduate and graduate program in Psychology, Business, Law, Public Policy and Dispute Resolutions.  The BCF approach to helping families in business and wealth transition is to serve as a guardian of the privacy of families while at the same time having access to highly regarded graduate schools in the various disciplines that impact those families.  Further, BCF pays attention to those family members who are not actively involved in the family business, foundation or ownership.  BCF attends to the family in a holistic manner by bringing all family members into a process that strengthens the family, family business, the family enterprise and wealth transition.

Each person operates from some set of answers to the following questions:

  • Who are we
  • Where did we come from
  • What is important and meaningful in this life
  • How can we bring value to our families, family business, communities and our use of wealth

Family Legacy Consultant Group helps families identify and incorporate these values in their vision and mission.
